Position
The Controller Europe reports to the Finance Director Europe and is responsible for ensuring the integrity of the financial processes in the subsidiaries. The Controller Europe will oversee cross regional tasks as well as dealing with corporate functions. He/She will act as a sparring partner to the General Manager to ensure the right level of support to the Retail Network through business review, performance analysis and compliance review.
Job responsibilities
Group reporting
- Sales reporting
- Monthly IFRS reporting and variance analysis
- Additional information reporting Margin analysis & stock monitoring
Management control
- Budget and planning process: liaise with Department heads, prepare budget presentations and follow-up correct implementation of decisions
- Prepare business plan for store opening approval
- CAPEX monitoring
- Cost control and variance analysis Monitoring of stores sales transactions
Business Support
- Support the General Manager and commercial team through analysis of the performance indicators & business reviews
- Assist Business functions in cost monitoring and budget management
- Works in collaboration with the stores to improve compliance and performance Provides weekly performance analysis of the country, by store, product line, etc.
Internal Control
- Ensure that a proper set of procedures and controls are in place to comply with the Group’s internal control standards
- Support the Retail Network to comply with the Group’s internal control standards by developing IT instruments, dealing with the HQ departments to update the procedures, of the procedures and controls are in place (i.e. inventory control, employees transactions, anti-money laundering)
Profile
- At least 3-5 years’ experience in a similar position within an International environment (fashion, luxury retail industry will be a plus).
- Graduate in Economics, Finance or Business Administration.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and proactive attitude.
- Fluency in English (Italian will be a plus).
