Splendido Hotel is seeking a passionate and experienced Sustainability Supervisor to join our team. As the Sustainability Supervisor, he/she will be responsible for developing and implementing sustainable practices and initiatives throughout our hotel operations. Working closely with various departments, stakeholders, and external partners, he/she will lead efforts to minimize our environmental footprint, promote social responsibility, and enhance the overall sustainability performance of Splendido Hotel.
He/She will Report to the Chief Engineer.
Main Duties & Responsabilities
- Develop and implement a comprehensive sustainability strategy aligned with the hotel's values, goals, and industry best practices.
- Identify opportunities to reduce energy consumption, water usage, waste generation, and carbon emissions across all hotel operations.
- Lead initiatives to promote recycling, waste reduction, and responsible sourcing of materials and products.
- Collaborate with procurement and supply chain partners to integrate sustainability criteria into purchasing decisions and vendor selection processes.
- Monitor and track key performance indicators (KPIs) related to sustainability, and prepare regular reports to assess progress and identify areas for improvement.
- Conduct sustainability training and awareness programs for staff members to foster a culture of sustainability and environmental stewardship.
- Stay informed about emerging trends, technologies, and regulations in the field of sustainability, and recommend innovative solutions to enhance our sustainability efforts.
- Engage with guests, local communities, and stakeholders to communicate our commitment to sustainability and solicit feedback and support for our initiatives.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Sustainability, Hospitality Management or related field. Master's degree preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in sustainability activities, preferably in the hospitality or tourism industry.
- Strong understanding of environmental sustainability principles, standards, and frameworks (e.g., ISO 14001, LEED, Green Key).
- Excellent project management skills, with the ability to plan, execute, and evaluate sustainability initiatives effectively.
- Proven ability to collaborate cross-functionally and engage stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate complex concepts and influence decision-making.
- Passion for sustainability and a genuine commitment to making a positive impact on the environment and society.
