We are now looking for a Workshop Manager to lead our Workshop team in Naples, Italy.

Your role and responsibilities
As the Workshop Manager, you will play a pivotal role in driving the success and growth of our operations. Your responsibilities will include:
- Take ownership of the workshop's profit and loss, ensuring financial health and sustainability.
- Plan, lead, organize, and supervise activities to meet QEHS requirements and obligations, fostering a culture of safety and quality.
- Develop and support a competence development plan for the team, aligning with market needs and technological advancements.
- Drive business growth by increasing customer contacts and generating leads from non-buying customers.
- Facilitate the study and deployment of a Continuous Improvement approach, streamlining workshop execution and workflows.
- Support the development of the workshop layout and optimize ways of working to boost efficiency.
- Enhance the workshop's service offerings to meet and exceed customer expectations.
- Build visibility of demand and effectively manage capacity to ensure smooth operations.
- Manage communication across multiple stakeholders and senior leaders, ensuring alignment and collaboration.
- Own and drive the customer experience, measuring success and implementing improvements.
- Hire and develop team members, implementing robust growth and development plans to ensure employee satisfaction.
- Deploy target setting and execution plans to achieve organizational goals.
- Ensure development support to and from other workshops in the region, strengthening synergy with Parts and Field Service Organization and other relevant Wärtsilä entities.
The following will enable you to shine in this role:
- Completed technical vocational education or equivalent experience in marine equipment and machinery, supported by an entrepreneurial attitude.
- Service readiness, “hands on” mentality with a strong commitment to customer satisfaction.
- An enthusiastic, pragmatic, proactive, and constructive approach to challenges.
- Proven leadership skills and effective communication experience.
- Experience in planning and supervising workshop activities, including QEHS-related items.
- A keen awareness of costs and the ability to drive efficiency improvements.
- Familiarity with machining and mechanical production, with an openness to new technologies and IoT.
- Understanding of workshop operations and processes, with a focus on managing risks and continuous improvement.
- Good knowledge and experience with IT tools and systems, with a forward-looking approach to digitalization.
- Fluency in English, both written and spoken; knowledge of Italian is a valuable asset.
