The Planning Department is here to make a difference as One Team to enable Mattel to win and deliver profitable growth through the right Demand, Supply & Inventory. We connect the dots across functions through the Business Planning process, focusing on People, Service, Cost and Cash. The Planning department plays a critical role in the journey to transform the overall Supply Chain into a competitive advantage.
Job Description
The Opportunity:
We have an exciting opportunity for a Demand Planner to join our European Supply Chain Team, located in Milan (Italy). The key objectives of this role are to lead the local S&OP process and collaborate with commercial stakeholders to generate the most-likely Demand predictions.
What Your Impact Will Be:
- Drive improvements in Forecast Variance
- Prepare and run the local S&OP process with the Sales & Marketing teams following the monthly cadence
- Prepare and execute the monthly Demand Submission in line with the signed-off forecast
- Be the primary point of contact for Sales & Marketing with regards to Planning and Forecasting
- Synchronize commercial plans with demand plans
- Proactively identifying constraints and challenges and developing solutions to mitigate impacts all the while keeping internal customers clearly informed of developments
- Work with Sales and Marketing to fully understand Sales Forecast, risks and opportunities
- Provide and analyse monthly metrics reporting on forecast changes, rejections, forecast accuracy, bias
Qualifications
What We’re Looking For:
- B.A. Degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, Supply-Chain or Engineering (or equivalent)
- Fluent Italian & English
- At least 2-3 years experience in a supply chain planning role
- Working knowledge of demand planning processes and tools; experience with Anaplan and/or Tableau is a plus
- APICS certification or equivalent a plus
- Expert proficiency with Excel and PowerPoint
- Confident and skilled communicator both verbally and written including meeting facilitation and presentations
- Ability to influence and achieve expected results independently by establishing effective cross-functional & cross-culture relationships
- High level of organizational and time management skills
- High levels of problem solving & analytical ability
- Ability to perform in a demanding, dynamic and highly visible organisation
