Alfa Laval is a Swedish multinational with over 100 years of presence in Italy. Based in our Suisio site, you will join the Engineering Team, where we offer a stimulating role in an open and forward-thinking environment.
As a Design and Calculation Engineer, you will be responsible for the structural design and development of steel support frames and accessories for heat exchangers, ensuring compliance with engineering standards and project requirements.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Evaluating contract and product design requirements
- Transforming output requirements into calculations, dimensions, tolerances, and material choices
- Issuing material specifications and structural calculations
- Managing suppliers for structural frame calculations
- Reviewing and approving project drawings
- Uploading drawings and documentation into the system
- Preparing Bill of Materials (BOM) and managing related purchasing requests
- Handling technical meetings with clients and suppliers
- Providing technical support to other departments
- Contributing to process and team improvements
What you know?
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent
- Experience with 2D and 3D CAD software (preferably AutoCAD, Inventor)
- Experience with Finite Element Analysis tools (MIDAS, STAAD Pro, or similar)
- Strong understanding of technical drawings
- Knowledge of design standards (Eurocode 3)
- Familiarity with materials and mechanical processing
- Good command of written and spoken English
- Knowledge of quality and safety systems (ISO 9001, OHSAS 18001, ISO 14001)
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Team building and problem-solving mindset
