Job Description:
The role of the Dispatcher within a flight department is of fundamental importance for the safety of aircraft during ground and in-flight operations. Together with the aircraft Commander, the dispatcher prepares the flight plan to ensure that all aspects connected and related to the flight are satisfied and guaranteed.
He follows all the daily flight activity carried out by the company's aircraft.
He monitors and checks the weather and follows its evolution during daily flight operations. This means to study the winds, fronts, precipitation and the evolution of specific weather warnings that can affect daily and weekly flight operations.
The Dispatcher must also have a good knowledge of the equipment useful for navigation, radio frequencies used by the crew, the related Notice To Airmen, flight routes, airports and their facilities in order to be able to warn the aircraft Commander if something is temporarily out of service or degraded. He can provide airways cleared by the Air Traffic Control Authorities for the type of flight requested, check the fuel required for the flight when the aircraft is on the ramp, the cargo load to be transported and maintain relations with the Air Traffic Control Authorities of the Italian Air Force for flights performed in restricted and/or prohibited flight zones.
Tasks
1. Filing Flight Plans for Flight Operations Italy both in Italy and abroad;
2. Managing the daily flight activity for Flight Operations Italy on the Company's sites;
3. Managing flight activity with the air traffic control and military bodies;
4. Checking the weather forecasts to inform the flight crews;
5. Assisting the Head of Tests and Operations Coordination Office in filing the daily flight program;
6. Managing annually, together with the Head of Tests and Operations Coordination Office, the software applications;
7. Communication with the flight crews for the necessary information about the flight.
Requirements
1. Good aeronautical knowledge in the air traffic control and meteorology areas;
2. Previous experience in a Flight Operations department is preferable;
3. Good knowledge of Microsoft Office application software and technology in general;
4. Firm and decisive character with good team-working skills;
5. Strong attention to detail and high concentration capabilities;
6. Excellent communication skills;
7. Great ability to work under pressure;
8. Good knowledge of English language;
9. Education: secondary school diploma or higher.
