General Manager (m/f/d) start Autumn 2025
Position Overview:
- Strong, hands-on operational role model with a passion for hospitality, a charismatic presence, and with excellent communication skills.
- Lead the project from pre-opening through successful operation, overseeing all aspects of strategy, operations, team development, and guest experience
- Driving long-term growth and consolidating leadership in guest recognition and innovation.
- The ideal candidate will be an inspirational and motivational leader, fostering a culture of continuous improvement in guest services and experiences while maintaining strong relations with all stakeholders in the company.
- Additionally, play a key role in building a high-performing team through strategic recruitment, staff training, and development programs.
Key Responsibilities:
Pre-Opening Responsibilities:
- Develop the hotel’s organizational structure and staffing plan.
- Recruit department heads and key team members.
- Execute onboarding and training programs.
- Implement hotel culture, falkensteiner values, and service philosophy.
- Ensure compliance with all legal, licensing, and safety requirements.
- Conduct test runs for all departments (mock check-ins, F&B service, emergency drills).
- Review quality control and guest experience simulation.
- Collect feedback and resolve operational gaps before official opening.
- Lead the “opening” to ramp up service and occupancy.
- Coordinate and build relationship with local authorities and tourism boards.
- Build relationships with investors, neighbors, suppliers, and local influencer.
- Organize pre-opening events (VIP previews, media events, opening party etc.)
Leadership & Inspirational Management:
- Serve as a hands-on operational role model, leading by example and setting high standards for the management team and staff.
- Inspire and motivate the resort staff to achieve excellence in service delivery and operational performance.
- Provide leadership that is both passionate and charismatic, fostering a positive, dynamic, and results-oriented environment.
- Develop in-depth knowledge and understanding of health tourism as the principal travel motive for all customer segments and distribution channels
- Develop and implement strategic plans to position the resort as the leading Beach Resort in Sicilia
Operational Excellence:
- Oversee the daily operations, ensuring consistent quality, efficiency, and guest satisfaction.
- Be actively involved in key operational areas, ensuring hands-on management and attention to detail across Spa, F&B, rooms division, guest services, and more.
- Implement continuous operational improvements and best practices to streamline processes and elevate service standards.
Communication:
- Prepare and present clear, concise reports, growth strategies, and performance updates to key stakeholders.
- Communicate business performance and future growth plans with in-depth knowledge, passion and confidence, building trust and ensuring alignment.
Guest Services & Experience Innovation:
- Continuously elevate the guest experience, developing new and innovative services and offerings that set the resorts apart from competitors in the region.
- Lead a guest-centric approach, ensuring feedback is addressed proactively and guest satisfaction is consistently improved.
- Drive initiatives to enhance the overall guest experience, ensuring the resorts deliver world-class service.
Financial Management:
- Oversee the financial performance, managing budgets, forecasts, and P&L.
- Lead and collaborate with GEC to implement revenue-optimizing strategies, including yield management and cost control.
- Identify new revenue opportunities and implement strategic cost-saving initiatives to maximize profitability.
Recruitment, Training & Development:
- Lead the recruitment of high-quality staff, ensuring the hiring of individuals aligned with the resort's luxury standards and vision.
- Develop and oversee comprehensive staff training programs, fostering continuous learning and professional growth.
- Act as a mentor and coach to the leadership team, promoting a culture of accountability, engagement, and innovation.
- Inspire teams to perform at their best, driving employee satisfaction, motivation, and retention.
Compliance & Risk Management:
- Ensure all properties are compliant with local regulations, health and safety standards, and internal policies.
- Implement risk management and crisis protocols to safeguard guests, staff, and business assets.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a General Manager in luxury resorts.
- International Experience in upscale hotel brands
- A passionate, hands-on leader with a track record of operational excellence and an ability to inspire and motivate teams.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and lead diverse teams.
- Expertise in financial management, including P&L oversight and budgeting
- Strong background in continuously improving guest services and creating unique guest experiences.
- A charismatic, inspirational leader with the ability to foster a positive, high-performance work environment.
- Fluency in Italian, German and in English is essential.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in managing resort properties, preferably at the beach
- Degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Knowledge of central European markets and local regulations.
