JUNIOR NETWORK OPERATOR
As a Junior Network Operator, you will support daily service operations and help ensure successful satellite contacts across our infrastructure. You will work closely with both the Mission Management team (responsible for customer onboarding and operations) and the Service Reliability Engineering (SRE) team (focused on infrastructure and uptime).
The role involves executing operational procedures, monitoring contacts, and escalating any anomalies to more senior team members. You will use internally developed tools and are encouraged to contribute feedback to improve them.
This is an ideal role for someone looking to start or consolidate a career in ground operations or satellite communications, with opportunities to grow technical and operational knowledge.
RESPONSABILITIES
- Perform daily operational tasks such as contact bookings and basic configuration updates using internal tools
- Monitor satellite contact execution and alert for anomalies or issues
- Escalate problems appropriately and document actions taken
- Participate in the on-call rotation, which may include occasional night or weekend shifts to support regular operation or exceptional operations such as satellite launches (LEOP)
- Collaborate with the Mission Management and SRE teams to support service delivery
- Contribute feedback on internal tools to improve usability and automation
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
- Some experience (including internships or academic projects) in satellite operations, network operations, or related technical fields
- Familiarity with Linux environments and ability to use command-line tools
- Detail-oriented and reliable in following procedures
- Good communication and willingness to learn from more experienced colleagues
- Availability for rotating on-call shifts (including occasional nights or weekends)
Nice to Have
- Exposure to ground segment infrastructure or satellite telecommunication systems
- Familiarity with basic scripting (e.g. Python, Bash)
- Experience using monitoring tools or ticketing systems (e.g. Grafana, Jira)
