Unit Description
MicroWave Business Unit is providing Microwave transport solution within Nokia, reference product family is Wavence. Nokia is looking for a young Hardware development engineer interested to digital circuit design.
As a member of Hardware digital team, you will be a part of a team whose objectives are to design and deliver new hardware, the trust and team working are strongly encouraged, each team member works on products innovative for telecom world.
Subunit Description
HW is relevant part of Wavence product and majority of feature differentiator with respect to competition relies on HW specific implementation.
Digital Hardware (DHA) comprises the specification, design, and implementation of digital hardware (baseband hardware) while applying design targets such as low cost, high yield, and high reliability. Digital boards are high density boards with numerous components including high-speed connections and high precision reference clocks.
Digital Hardware (DHA) will develop extensive knowledge of new telecommunications protocols and state of the art standards. You will contribute to developing innovative solutions exploiting advanced technologies to address the Nokia strategy in 5G domain and beyond.
As part of HW DIGITAL team, you will work in the context of a team over different MICROWAVE R&D locations, highly interacting with other teams inside MICROWAVE business unit, in a multicultural and worldwide context. You will experience modern development methodologies like agile, scrum and cross functional team working.
Your role
Within HW development you will contribute to create innovative solutions through system and function architecture definition, and you will be responsible of specification, simulation, design and qualification, both at unit and system level, following the complete end to end project flow from market needs to the release of new product to market.
The environment is very stimulating since you will have the possibility to work inside team in contact with most advanced internal and external research centers (such as Bell Labs) and universities.
You will:
- Work in team to define feasibility study, the architecture and the definition of the product hardware evolution through the creation and release of hardware documentation.
- Analyse, design, develop and tests products / services / improvements / bug resolutions for integrated hardware / software systems in line with the product requirements, with status update reporting and tracking of the activities.
- Resolve customer trouble tickets. Diagnoses complex problems / issues (EG hardware, software, combination) and provides resolution or recommend corrective actions.
- Plan technical requirements from customers’ needs.
You have/are:
- Bachelor / master's degree in electrical engineer or equivalent
- Fluent spoken and written english
- Good teamwork skills
- Eager to learn and expand own's knowledge
It would be nice if you have:
- Experience to use specific test equipment as ethernet tester, power supply, scopes
- Knowledge in some digital components as ethernet switch, microprocessor, modem, memories.
