About the Role
We are looking for a Strategic Partnerships Manager to join the Group Strategy & Development team at Nexi, Europe’s leading Paytech. In this role, you will be responsible for identifying, developing and delivering strategic partnerships that support the growth of our Business.
You will work closely with major technology companies, digital platforms and other key players across the payments and commerce landscape. This is a hands-on role where you will manage partnerships from start to finish, including deal origination, opportunity assessment, commercial discussions, execution and nurturing and growth.
Key responsibilities:
- Identify, evaluate and execute strategic partnership opportunities with Global technology firms, enabling platform providers and ecosystem players that can support business growth
- Lead all phases of the partnership lifecycle, from idea generation and financial modelling to negotiation and implementation
- Engage directly with external partners and customers to shape joint value propositions and deliver commercial outcomes
- Collaborate with internal teams such as product, commercial, legal and finance to ensure alignment and successful delivery
- Monitor and report on the commercial performance of key partnerships and use insights to inform future strategy
- Support the development and refinement of Nexi’s broader ecosystem strategy in line with business priorities
What we are looking for:
- Proven experience in strategy, strategic partnerships or business development in a technology-led business environment, sharp business acumen, lateral thinking and a beginner's mind approach (consultancy-only backgrounds are not preferred)
- Strong numerical and analytical skills, with confidence in financial modelling and using data to support business cases
- Experience of working with or negotiating with major technology companies, digital platforms or ecosystem partners
- A practical, delivery-focused approach with a willingness to take ownership and get involved in day-to-day execution
- Ability to manage multiple projects at pace while keeping a clear view of the overall strategic objectives
- Strong commercial understanding and a clear grasp of how to create long-term value through partnerships
Qualifications:
- Master degree-level education in business, economics, engineering or a related field
- 5 to 10 years of experience in a strategic or commercial role involving external partnerships or growth initiatives
- Comfortable building trusted relationships with internal stakeholders and external partners at all levels
- Fluent English is essential, additional European languages are an advantage
