About the Role
Our newly established MUBI Italia office is looking for a Theatrical Sales Director to lead the commercial strategy for our theatrical releases in Italy. This role will be key to positioning titles in the market and enhancing the value of the release slate, with a specific focus on auteur cinema. Working within an independent, dynamic, and innovation-driven international environment in the film and cultural sector, you will collaborate closely with the Managing Director, the Italian team and the global network, helping to support the distribution and impact of our films within the Italian cinematic landscape.
Where you will have impact:
Plan and manage the theatrical line-up based on market trends and competitive context
Define and implement the sales & booking strategy for each release
Maintain direct relationships with exhibitors, including national, independent, and arthouse circuits
Negotiate and oversee rental agreements
Design and coordinate commercial initiatives (previews, special events, festival collaborations)
Organize and manage the commercial network across Italy
Maintain ongoing dialogue with the international team, sharing insights and reports
Support Administration and Finance in optimizing billing processes
What you will bring:
Previous experience in film distribution or theatrical booking
Excellent negotiation and relationship skills
Analytical mindset and strategic perspective
Expert knowledge of Microsoft Excel and data analysis
Fluent in written and spoken English and Italian
Creative, collaborative and flexible approach, goal-oriented
