Director, Wholesale – Europe

About the Role
Miller Knoll is seeking a dynamic, results-driven leader to drive the growth and execution of our Wholesale business across Europe. This role will lead the implementation of our global wholesale strategy in the region - ensuring commercial performance, operational alignment, and brand excellence across different countries.
You’ll focus on expanding the European footprint of iconic brands such as Herman Miller and Knoll through partnerships with high-end multi-brand retailers and select branded spaces (e.g., department stores). This is a high-impact role that blends strategic oversight with hands-on leadership and day-to-day execution.
What You’ll Do
- Lead the Wholesale business in Europe, delivering strong performance across sales, profitability, and market development against clearly defined KPIs.
- Own and deliver accurate sales forecasting and reporting across the region to drive business planning and decision-making.
- Manage, guide, and develop a regional sales team, as well as a network of independent sales agents across multiple geographies.
- Build and deepen partnerships with premium retailers, dealers, and the A+D community to grow brand awareness and long-term value.
- Collaborate with other business units (e.g. Contract) to define integrated country strategies that enhance brand presence, drive sales, and optimize margin across channels.
- Act as the key commercial link to our European manufacturing site in Italy -collaborating closely with teams in finance, production, logistics, quality, and customer service.
- Work cross-functionally with central functions (e.g., merchandising, marketing, brand) to ensure alignment and great customer experience.
- Localize and execute the global Wholesale strategy across European markets, with support from the VP, Wholesale – Global Retail.
- Monitor market trends and channel dynamics to identify new opportunities for business growth and optimization.
- Champion the long-term positioning and integrity of our brands in the European wholesale channel.
Who You Are
- A commercially focused leader with 10+ years of experience in wholesale, preferably in premium/luxury goods, design, or adjacent industries.
- Proven track record of managing regional business complexity and delivering results across diverse markets.
- Experienced in leading both internal teams and external sales agents in an international context.
- Operationally savvy, with a collaborative mindset and ability to work closely with factory-based teams to ensure business growth
- A skilled communicator who builds trust and influence across functions, cultures, and seniority levels.
- Fluent in English; additional European languages (especially Italian, French, or German) are a strong plus.
- Strategic yet hands-on, with a proactive mindset and entrepreneurial approach.
- Ability to travel more than 50% of the time.
- Hold a university degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field.
