Financial Controller - on MALTA
The Financial Controller reports to the Group CFO and CEO, managing the local finance function, consolidating reports, and providing strategic support for business decisions.,
Key Responsibilities
Manage the finance function: general accounting, sales, expenses, and reconciliations.
Prepare financial statements, management reports with KPIs, budgets, and forecasts.
Analyze cash flow, margins, and profitability by product and channel.
Monitor company performance and provide detailed analyses compared to previous years.
Supervise liquidity, bank relationships, and debtor/creditor management.
Manage tax compliance (VAT, taxes) and tax optimization.Implement financial controls and ensure data accuracy.
Collaborate with various departments, translating numerical data into operational guidance.
Present financial data and analyses to company boards.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in economics and accounting qualification, with at least 5 years of post-qualification experience.
Proven experience in financial accounting, financial statements, and reporting.
Experience with financial systems; knowledge of Xiro is a plus.
Knowledge of how to prepare financial statements, control balance sheets, prepare reports, and define product pricing (margin and cost analysis).
Experience with reporting, balance sheet analysis, verification, and interpretation of numerical data.
Ability to translate data into insights useful to company departments.
Experience in producing budgets, forecasts, IRR analysis, and comparisons with previous years, including trend explanations.
Excellent knowledge of IFRS, taxation, and the VAT framework.
Advanced skills in IT and process automation.
Fluent English; other languages are a plus.
Strong attention to detail, problem solving, ability to work under pressure, and team leadership.
