Essential duties and responsibilities where you'll make the biggest impact…
- Lead the timely completion of month-end close for multiple entities under US GAAP, including review and approval of reporting packages to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Oversee the shared service provider handling general accounting, accounts payable, tax compliance, and payroll, ensuring statutory audits and tax returns are completed on time while identifying opportunities to improve cost efficiency and processes.
- Drive the phased transition from outsourced services to an internal accounting team, supporting company formation and establishment in new markets.
- Establish and maintain robust internal controls to ensure accurate financial data, divisional SOX compliance, and operational integrity.
- Partner with the central treasury team to monitor cash flow, working capital, and foreign exchange risk, supporting cash forecasting and bank account management across entities.
- Manage the order-to-cash process, including setting credit limits, coordinating multiple operating models across countries, and implementing new processes for additional products or model changes.
- Analyze inventory performance by market to ensure adequate reserves and optimal working capital utilization.
- Prepare and review monthly financial reporting for external stakeholders, providing clear insights and actionable recommendations.
- Support the US team with year-end audit schedules and documentation, ensuring compliance and audit readiness.
- Provide expert advice and guidance to the VP of Accounting and international leadership on accounting operations and related initiatives.
- Collaborate with international leadership on ongoing projects and strategic initiatives to drive financial excellence.
- Build and maintain strong, credible, and supportive relationships with internal teams and external partners, fostering trust and collaboration.
- Office Location - Milan (hybrid onsite Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday)
- Up to 20% travel

Qualifications and Skills You’ll Bring to the Team…
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field; relevant professional certification (e.g., Dottore Commercialista, ACCA, CPA) or a related field. Life sciences or healthcare industry experience is a plus.
- 10+ years of experience in accounting or finance roles, ideally at divisional or group level, including experience as a controller or similar senior role.
- Familiarity with international taxation, cross-border accounting, and currency risk management preferred.
- Experience supporting international expansion and multi-entity operations is an advantage.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills with a focus on accuracy and compliance.
- Proven leadership and team management experience, with the ability to coach, motivate, and develop accounting staff.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, able to build collaborative, trust-based relationships across functions.
- Self-driven and proactive, able to work autonomously while balancing strategic priorities with day-to-day operational responsibilities.
- Comfortable working in small, agile, cross-functional teams, contributing across both tactical and strategic initiatives.
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Motivated to grow with the company, adaptable to change, and eager to engage across all levels of the organization.
- Committed to delivering practical solutions while maintaining a collaborative and inclusive working environment.
