We are looking for an experienced Accountant with a strong background in UK accounting and tax. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing, delivering, and presenting key financial statements to the Director Accounting while managing all day-to-day bookkeeping, finance, and compliance requirements in the UK. Your tasks
- You manage the bookkeeping of our UK entity including reviewing and posting month-end journals (e.g. accruals, prepayments)
- You process incoming invoices and monitor outgoing invoices for the UK entity
- You prepare and submit quarterly VAT returns
- You compile the year-end audit file and coordinate with external accountants and auditors
- You provide payroll data to the external payroll provider and review their reports before FPS submission
- You prepare weekly cash flow statements for the UK entity
Your skills
- You hold a degree in accounting or business administration and have at least 5 years of experience in a start-up or fast-growing environment
- You have a minimum of 3 years of hands-on bookkeeping experience for UK entities
- You possess solid knowledge of the UK tax system and confidently manage local tax compliance
- You are experienced with accounting tools such as Sage Business Cloud or Xero, with SAP knowledge being a strong advantage
- You are familiar with UK payroll processes and skilled in preparing accurate payroll data
- You are highly organized, able to set clear priorities, and work independently with exceptional attention to detail
