What you will be doing
- Serve as head of the Italian branch - main contact point for Bank of Italy and other relevant parties and authorities in Italy.
- Reporting line to Head of Compliance in The Netherlands;
- Ownership over the Italian CDD/TM Procedures;
- Reviewing escalations of complex high risk cases from AML Team in the 1st Line (onboarding and transaction monitoring blocks);
- FIU Submissions and regulatory reporting to Bank of Italy;
- Participation in SIRA review cycle;
- Performance of regular Quality Assurance of the 1st Line;
- Assist in drafting, testing and reviewing system requirements for new compliance-related features for CDD Risk Engine and TM suite, as well as procedures, manuals and guidelines within the department;
- Conduct regular internal AML training;
- Track regulatory developments and best practices in the AML domain in Italy and implement them where necessary;
- Initiate and take responsibility for ad hoc project work within the department (e.g. vendor-facing projects, CDD geo-expansion);
- Act as the Head of Branch the responsibilities include, receiving communications from various authorities in Italy and redirecting them to the relevant stakeholders within Finom Group and making sure that all requests are followed up on in a timely manner.
Who you are
- Excellent knowledge of Italian AML legislation;
- Minimum of 2 years of proven experience in the 2nd Line of Defense;Detail-oriented and highly motivated self-starter;
- Critical and analytical thinking;
- Start-up oriented, proactive, result-driven, and capable of working under own initiative and little supervision;
- Knowledge of Data Protection legislation would be considered a strong advantage but is not a blocker.
- Languages English AND Italian – full working proficiency

It is a critical thinker eager to challenge the status quo and come up with non-standard solutions. Our new Compliance colleague is able to communicate effectively with colleagues of different levels of seniority, and present their ideas in a practical, simple, clear and concise manner to people that do not specialize in compliance.
