Mobile Wireless Engineer (internship)
Milan, Italy
Main Responsibilities:
A Mobile Wireless Engineer is responsible for the design, development, optimization, and integration of wireless communication systems, particularly those that support mobile networks (3G/4G/5G).
1. Network Design & Optimization:
- Design and implement mobile wireless network solutions for improved coverage, capacity, and performance;
- Optimize mobile networks for data throughput, latency, and quality of service (QoS);
- Monitor and troubleshoot network performance issues, including signal strength, interference, and network congestion.
2. Wireless System Testing & Validation:
- Conduct tests to ensure the performance of mobile wireless systems meets specifications and standards;
- Perform field testing and drive tests to assess mobile network coverage, signal strength, and reliability;
- Validate compliance with regulatory standards and ensure compatibility with different wireless technologies.
3. Technology Integration & Development:
- Integrate and optimize the latest mobile wireless technologies, including 4G, 5G, Wi-Fi, and IoT protocols;
- Work on new wireless communication protocols and technologies, including LTE, NR (New Radio), and future wireless innovations;
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and integrate new wireless technologies into mobile systems.
4. Troubleshooting & Issue Resolution:
- Identify and resolve issues related to mobile wireless hardware, software, and network configurations;
- Work closely with vendors, service providers, and stakeholders to resolve technical challenges;
- Utilize diagnostic tools and software to troubleshoot network issues, perform root cause analysis, and recommend solutions.
5. Documentation & Reporting:
- Create and maintain detailed documentation for network designs, testing procedures, and optimization processes;
- Generate regular reports on network performance, trends, and improvement recommendations;
- Provide technical support and guidance to internal teams and customers regarding wireless network configurations and setups.
Requirements:
- Fresh graduate with a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a technical field, such as Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, Computer Science, or a related discipline, graduating between January 2024 and December 2026.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills, with a proven ability to solve problems, make decisions, and manage tasks effectively.
- Adaptability to work in an international business environment, demonstrating excellent collaboration skills and cultural awareness.
- Language Requirements: Good command of spoken English and fluent in Italian.
