Join Axon and be a Force for Good.
At Axon, we’re on a mission to Protect Life. We’re explorers, pursuing society’s most critical safety and justice issues with our ecosystem of devices and cloud software. Like our products, we work better together. We connect with candor and care, seeking out diverse perspectives from our customers, communities and each other.
Life at Axon is fast-paced, challenging and meaningful. Here, you’ll take ownership and drive real change. Constantly grow as you work hard for a mission that matters at a company where you matter.
Your Impact
In this pivotal role, you will serve as the strategic and technical bridge between Axon’s global product organization and the unique demands of the European cloud and compliance landscape. You will lead the charge in delivering Axon’s platform into sovereign cloud environments, ensuring our solutions meet the highest standards of data privacy, residency, and regulatory compliance across Europe’s public sector markets.
This isn’t just about expanding presence—it’s about enabling secure, compliant, and high-performance deployment of mission-critical systems, like digital evidence management and real-time IoT, under the strictest national frameworks. You'll be the resident expert on cloud infrastructure tradeoffs, regional platform strategy, and compliance-led feature development.
You’ll work hands-on with both customers and internal stakeholders to influence decisions around multi-tenant vs. single-tenant architectures, BYOK vs. HYOK models, zero trust principles, and Axon’s roadmap for cloud sovereignty in key jurisdictions. From engaging in early-stage product discovery with national IT agencies to guiding Axon through complex tender responses, your impact will span both technical depth and geopolitical nuance.
What You’ll Do
Location: Rome, Italy
Languages: Must speak Italian and English fluently
Reports to: Director, Product Management
- Drive European Cloud Product Strategy: Own the roadmap for Axon’s international platform delivery, particularly within sovereign, hybrid, and restricted cloud environments. Be the voice shaping data residency, security posture, and national cloud compliance across EU markets.
- Be the Voice of the Customer: Lead customer discovery with operational users, CIOs, and regulators to surface technical and policy constraints—translating them into clear product requirements and architectural recommendations.
- Guide Compliance-Led Innovation: Partner with Security, Legal, and Engineering to embed EU-specific needs (e.g., GDPR, SecNumCloud, PSN) into platform capabilities like data segregation, auditability, and encryption key ownership.
- Evangelize with Authority: Represent Axon at customer briefings, compliance roundtables, industry panels, and executive engagements. Make the case for Axon’s cloud architecture with fluency in infrastructure, policy, and risk frameworks.
- Own Localization Strategy: Help Axon’s platform adapt to language, legislative, and deployment constraints without compromising core value or scalability.
- Partner Cross-Functionally: Work closely with Sales, Proposals, Program Management, and Engineering to deliver both tactical solutions and long-range product positioning in EU tender processes.
- Lead Product Influence in Tenders: Serve as the technical and product lead for regional RFPs—crafting clear, compliant, and competitive responses that meet high public sector scrutiny.
What You Bring
Experience
- 7+ years in product management with strong experience in cloud infrastructure, SaaS platforms, and sovereign cloud delivery models.
- Direct experience with hybrid deployments, data sovereignty requirements, and compliance-based product development in heavily regulated industries (public sector, defense, healthcare, etc.).
- Strong track record influencing cloud strategy, including architectural tradeoffs (e.g. BYOK, data residency, isolation zones) with internal teams and external partners.
- Experience working directly with government agencies, IT leaders, and procurement officials—ideally in support of mission-critical or compliance-sensitive technologies.
- Familiarity with major cloud platforms (e.g., Azure, AWS, GCP) and how they intersect with regulatory frameworks like GDPR, C5, and PSN.
Skills
- Deep product judgment with ability to balance local market specificity and global platform priorities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills—clear, structured, and persuasive, especially under regulatory or technical scrutiny.
- Ability to distill complex technical and legal requirements into actionable product strategy.
- Comfort leading discussions around architecture, security, hosting models, and data governance with both internal stakeholders and public-sector clients.
- Fluency in additional European languages (e.g., French, Spanish, German) is a plus.
- Willingness to travel ~20% across Europe.
Why You’ll Love This Role
- Shape the Future of Sovereign Cloud at Axon: You'll be a foundational voice in how Axon scales compliantly across Europe, enabling safety technology for governments without compromising on performance or privacy.
- Bridge Global & Local: Operate as a platform strategist and a field-level operator. You’ll help core teams see around corners and help customers see what’s possible.
- Mission Meets Modernity: Work on cutting-edge cloud, AI, and IoT systems that are deployed for public good—reducing harm and modernizing justice workflows.
- Growth and Visibility: You’ll have real ownership, executive visibility, and a long runway to shape product and platform decisions in a market of strategic importance.
