Posizione:
Artemest is entering a new chapter. For the first time, we are creating original furniture, lighting, and décor collections to be branded under the Artemest name. These exclusive lines will celebrate the finest Italian craftsmanship and be produced in partnership with our established network of makers across Italy.
To lead this exciting initiative, we are looking for a Product Designer & Developer with a strong design sensibility, deep knowledge of artisanal production processes, and the technical expertise to bring ideas to life — from concept to prototype to market.
This role will focus primarily on designing and developing Artemest-branded collections. In parallel, the person will contribute to developing capsule collections in collaboration with external talents — particularly US-based interior designers — and support bespoke B2B requests through product adaptations or custom development.
Key Responsibilities
- Design Artemest-branded collections of furniture, lighting, and décor from scratch, based on market trends, catalog needs, and strategic direction from the Trade & Design team.
- Collaborate closely with the Buying & Curation team to align with catalog gaps and trend insights.
- Coordinate with the Trade & Design team to identify key product opportunities for commercial and contract projects.
- Work side by side with Italian artisans, selecting appropriate production partners, techniques, and materials for each project, leveraging your knowledge of local manufacturing districts.
- Develop detailed technical and visual documentation (including moodboards, spec sheets, drawings, 3D models, and renderings) to guide internal decisions and external production.
- Oversee the full prototype development process, managing iterations, cost alignment, and production feasibility.
- Support the development of external designer collections, translating their creative vision into technically and commercially viable products.
- Contribute to bespoke product development for high-end clients by adapting existing pieces or creating custom solutions.
- Collaborate with the Marketing & Communication team to build a positioning and narrative for Artemest-branded collections that enhances the brand without conflicting with represented artisans and partners. Stay ahead of design trends, material innovations, and international market preferences to guide new product development.
Requisiti:
We are looking for a profile that combines design creativity with development expertise. The ideal candidate has a background in either a furniture or lighting company (with direct experience managing product development) or a design studio where projects have been led from concept to production, working closely with suppliers and manufacturers throughout the process.
- Bachelor’s degree in Product Design or related field.
- 3+ years of experience in product design and development within the design or luxury interiors sector.
- Strong technical expertise in materials, finishes, and artisanal techniques across furniture and lighting.
- Deep knowledge of Italian manufacturing districts and production processes.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, 3D modeling (e.g., Rhinoceros or similar), and rendering software (e.g., V-Ray).
- Skilled in Adobe Creative Suite (especially Illustrator and InDesign).
- Ability to combine creative vision with commercial and technical pragmatism.
- Excellent project management and communication skills; ability to work with artisans, internal teams, and external designers.
- Fluency in English and Italian, both written and spoken.
- Highly organized, proactive, and capable of managing multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
