Overview
Kemin Nutrisurance Europe is looking for a Senior Research Associate who is responsible for supporting R&D by participating in more complex R&D projects. They may independently perform components of a research projects and may independently lead R&D projects. This role may perform summarization, analysis, and organization of data for publications. Participates in research that leads to new product development and process improvement. The Sr Research Associate performs tasks in a laboratory or other research setting.

Responsibilities
- Independently conduct innovative scientific experiments and tests, operate and maintain all laboratory equipment.
- Perform literature reviews and provide written summaries that are incorporated into strategy.
- Develop and review SOP’s, research protocols and research methods, with minimal supervision.
- Independently perform basic data analysis with minimal supervision and advanced data analytics with more supervision.
- Collect, interpret and document research data, with minimal supervision.
- Generate scientific publications for internal purposes.
- Prepare and present research data and analytics in multiple formats including some targeted external formats.
- Provide instruction and training to interns and junior staff.
- Manage and/or mentor direct reports to reach SMART goals.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's, master’s degree or phD in Chemistry, Food Science, Biology, Biotechnology.
- At least 3 years of experience in R&D department with palatant, protein, functional ingredients, or industrial food.
- Written and verbal communication in English & Italian is required.
- Must be able to work independently or on a team and have the ability to work in a fast-paced multidisciplinary environment.
- Excellent Scientific skills in experiment design and data collection, able to maintain instruments.
