As Assistant Director of Finance, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the financial strategy of the hotel, ensuring operational excellence and profitability while upholding the EDITION brand’s uncompromising standards.
This role is both analytical and strategic—supporting the Director of Finance in delivering accurate financial insights, driving performance, and enabling bold, data-driven decisions. You will be a key business partner to department leaders, translating numbers into narratives that guide the hotel’s continued success.
Key Responsibilities Strategic Financial Leadership- Support the development and execution of the hotel’s financial strategy in alignment with EDITION’s brand vision and business goals.
- Analyze financial data, market trends, and operational performance to identify opportunities for growth and efficiency.
- Assist in the creation and management of the annual operating budget, forecasts, and long-range planning.
- Provide actionable insights to department heads to optimize revenue and control costs.
- Ensure robust internal controls are in place to safeguard assets and maintain compliance with brand and regulatory standards.
- Oversee the accuracy of financial reporting, including P&L statements, balance sheets, and cash flow forecasts.
- Monitor working capital, tax obligations, and audit processes to ensure financial health and transparency.
- Lead and inspire the finance team, fostering a culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement.
- Communicate financial concepts clearly and persuasively to non-financial stakeholders.
- Support the Director of Finance in managing relationships with ownership, auditors, and corporate finance teams.
- Participate in owner and leadership meetings, providing financial updates and strategic recommendations.
- Understand and anticipate the needs of key stakeholders, ensuring alignment between financial performance and brand priorities.
- Facilitate regular business reviews and critique sessions to drive informed decision-making.
- Ensure compliance with all local laws, brand standards, and internal policies.
- Submit timely and accurate financial reports, ensuring all documentation is audit-ready.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of financial regulations and industry best practices.
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
- Minimum 1 year of experience in finance or accounting within a hospitality or lifestyle brand environment.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail.
- A collaborative mindset with the ability to influence and inspire across departments.
- Proficiency in financial systems and tools; experience with Marriott systems is a plus.
- Fluent in English; Italian language skills are highly desirable.
