We are looking for a talented Customer Order Management Representative (PowerGen Projects) to join our team, supporting Power Generation (PowerGen) projects across Europe, with a focus on the Italian market.
This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic and collaborative team, where you'll play a key role in delivering exceptional customer service and ensuring timely order fulfillment in complex, high-value projects.
In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:
- Serving as the single point of contact for assigned customer accounts and managing the full order lifecycle—from order entry through to delivery and invoicing.
- Coordinating transactional PowerGen project orders in Italy, interacting closely with internal stakeholders such as project managers, finance, planning, and logistics teams.
- Liaising with external logistics providers and customs brokers to ensure smooth delivery, customs clearance, and accurate export documentation.
- Ensuring order accuracy and timely processing, including new customer setups, order modifications, and end-to-end coordination to meet project deadlines.
- Handling complex customer inquiries with ownership and professionalism, leveraging your knowledge of Cummins systems and processes.
- Maintaining compliance with export regulations and preparing key documentation such as commercial invoices, packing lists, and customs declarations.
- Acting as the point of contact for quality concerns and claims, working with cross-functional teams through the Quality Management System (QMS).
- Preparing internal and external reports and supporting customer visits or project reviews.
- Participating in continuous improvement initiatives to streamline customer order management and logistics operations.
To be successful in this role, you will need the following:
- Proven experience in customer order management or supply chain planning, ideally in a project-driven or logistics-heavy environment.
- Knowledge of export procedures, customs processes, and Incoterms is highly advantageous.
- ERP system experience (Movex or similar); knowledge of SAP is a plus.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (e.g. pivot tables, vlookups, data filtering, basic formulas).
- Experience with key industry terms and processes: lead time, back orders, partial shipments, proof of delivery (POD), bill of materials (BOM), escalation handling.
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- A proactive mindset – confident in taking ownership and working independently.
- Comfortable working in a dynamic, cross-functional environment.
- Customer service mindset with attention to detail and a collaborative approach.
- Prior experience in logistics or customs coordination is a plus.
Education/Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Relevant experience in supply chain, logistics, or order management roles.
- Familiarity with ERP systems and customer service processes.
- Fluency in both English and Italian is a mandatory requirement.
