Job Description:
Leonardo Helicopters Training Academy (LHTA) is continuously seeking motivated and passionate instructor candidates to join our growing team.
The Ground Instructor will be responsible for delivering theoretical and/or practical training for type and/or basic courses, in accordance with LHTA procedures and in compliance with the relevant Competent Authority regulations.
Key Responsibilities (including but not limited to):
Deliver theoretical and/or practical training covering all helicopter systems, ensuring all instruction is conducted in English;
Collaborate with fellow instructors and course managers in the preparation of course lesson plans and in meeting the specific needs of individual customers;
Stay current with helicopter technology and configuration updates to meet the standard training requirements at LHTA;
Support the Ground Training Design & Standard Department in the preparation and review of classroom training material (acting as a Subject Matter Expert – SME) and course syllabi.
Work Location:
The Ground Instructor position will be primarily based at the main LHTA facility (Sesto Calende). However, off-site training delivery (e.g., at customer premises) may occasionally be required.
Essential Requirements:
A minimum of a technical diploma or equivalent qualification;
Strong public speaking skills;
Good command of written and spoken English;
Ability to use contemporary standard IT applications such as office suites, email clients, digital document viewers, internet browsers, etc.;
Solid knowledge of current civil and/or military aviation regulations.
Recommended Qualifications (all considered as “nice to have” individually):
Proven experience, preferably in the aeronautical sector, in Part-147 / AER(EP).P-147 / CAMO for at least 2 years,
or at least 3 years of experience as an instructor in subjects relevant to the courses to be delivered.Note: Experience must have been gained in the technical office of a design organisation, production organisation, continuing airworthiness management organisation, maintenance organisation, or as an aviation specialist.
Possession of an aeronautical technician licence (optional);
Degree in aeronautical/electronics engineering (optional);
At least 2 years of proven experience in the field of aircraft maintenance or equivalent (preferably in the rotorcraft sector);
Experience working in a multicultural environment.
Additional Desirable Qualifications (all considered as “nice to have” individually):
Possession of a Certificate of Recognition (CoR) for aircraft types and/or modules to be taught, issued by a Part-147 / AER(EP).P-147 approved organisation or equivalent;
Possession of a Part-66 AML / AER(EP).P-66 MAML related to a category of interest for the organisation (e.g., Cat. B2 for candidates instructing B2 courses), or equivalent licences/certificates.
