The Role
ASSOCIATE DIRECTOR-RISK
The Head of Business Development – Risk & Analytics and ESG Practice Leader will play a pivotal role in driving commercial growth, expanding our ESG advisory capabilities, and overseeing the coordination of strategic risk management initiatives. This senior leadership role combines strong commercial acumen with a deep understanding of ESG frameworks, enterprise risk management (ERM), and insurance-based risk solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Business Development & Sales Leadership
- Develop and execute go-to-market strategies to drive new business and revenue growth in ESG and risk management advisory services.
- Lead client acquisition, retention, and relationship management, focusing on mid-size to large corporate clients in coordination with Client Executives, sales team and senior managers
- Identify cross-selling opportunities within the firm’s existing portfolio.
- ESG & Risk Advisory Leadership
- Serve as the internal and external thought leader on ESG-related risks and opportunities.
- Design and implement ESG risk assessment frameworks tailored to client needs.
- Support clients in aligning with regulatory ESG disclosure requirements and sustainability goals.
- Team Leadership & Coordination
- Lead and mentor a multidisciplinary team of consultants and analysts within the Risk & Analytics and ESG practice.
- Foster a high-performance culture focused on collaboration, innovation, and continuous learning.
- Coordinate with other business units to ensure alignment of strategy and delivery.
- Strategic Risk Management
- Guide clients in the identification, quantification, and mitigation of key operational, environmental, and reputational risks.
- Leverage analytics and data-driven insights to support evidence-based decision making.
- Market Intelligence & Innovation
- Monitor emerging trends in ESG, risk management, and insurance brokerage to inform service innovation and product development.
- Represent the firm at industry events, conferences, and panels.
Qualifications
The Requirements
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Business, Finance, Risk Management, Environmental Science, or related field.
- 10+ years of experience in business development and/or advisory roles within insurance brokerage, risk consulting, or ESG domains.
- Proven track record of commercial success and team leadership.
- Deep knowledge of ESG frameworks (e.g., TCFD, CSRD, SFDR), risk quantification methods, and insurance markets.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and negotiation skills.
- Fluent in English; knowledge of Italian or other European languages is a plus.
Based in Milan.
