Hitachi Rail is looking for a PROJECT ENGINEER and enthusiast to thrive in a fast-paced environment. The successful candidate is comfortable performing a wide range of tasks, from administrative to strategic. The location is based in Naples - Italy.

Responsibility
Project engineering focuses on designing, communicating, and implementing an operational plan for the completion of an engineering-based project, including:
- Preparation of projects, project checks and specifications, schedules, cost estimates, production, transportation, installation, testing and/or commissioning of new infrastructure, facilities, equipment, etc.
- Monitoring progress and performance against the project plan.
- Take action to resolve operational issues and minimize delays.
- Identify, develop, and gather the resources needed to complete the project. It may include the preparation of engineering standards, designs, and work specifications; development of programs, budgets and project forecasts; and the selection of materials, equipment, project personnel and external contractors
A specialized professional (P4) is a recognized subject matter expert in the area of work typically obtained through advanced education and work experience.
Responsibilities typically include:
- Management of large projects or processes with limited manager oversight.
- Coaching, reviewing, and delegating work to lower-level professionals.
- The problems faced are difficult and often complex.
Required skills/knowledge
Knowledge of the electrical, electronic, IT field
Ability to manage complex projects and analyze problems
Ability to interact with multiple functions inside and outside the Company
Flexibility and availability for medium-long trips, even abroad
Desired skills/knowledge
Experience in the rail or rail transport sector preferred, but not mandatory
Previous experience in supporting offers and proposals for new jobs is preferable
Experience in leadership in functional management or project management roles
Education/Qualifications
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electronic, Computer Science, Telecommunications Engineering or equivalent qualification
Languages
English Proficiency
Knowledge of an additional language is a plus, especially Spanish
